When are you open?
The centers set their own hours, but all are closed on Sundays and Mondays. All centers will also be closed on the following holidays: New Years, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. There may be additional closings. Please check the website or call the locations for any changes that may occur.
Who may use the centers?
The five Washington County Convenience Centers exist for the use of Washington County residents, and for their disposal of residential waste. No business or commercial waste can be accepted at the convenience centers, and non-residents may not dispose of residential waste at the centers.
How should I transport my waste?
Make sure your waste is covered. Tennessee Code Annotated 39-14-503 states that any motor vehicle which transports any material likely to fall or be blown off onto highways shall be required to have such material either in an enclosed space or fully covered by a tarpaulin. Violation of this law is a class B misdemeanor and could result in a $200 fine.
How much do you charge?
There is no charge for disposal of residential waste at the convenience centers. See the "tire center" page for information on charges for disposal of tires.
