Interested in serving on one of the County's boards?  Vacancies will be listed below....

  • Washington County Tennessee Library Board - Washington County Library Board will be accepting applications to fill a vacancy.  This appointment is a three-year term.  The Washington County Library Board oversees the Library Director and advocates for reading and the library.  Meetings are generally every other month.  If you are interested in applying for this appointment, complete the application and email it to Sherry Greene in the County Mayor's Office. Applications must be received by September 30, 2023. 
  • Washington County Industrial Development Board Vacancy -  The Tennessee General Assembly authorized Industrial development corporations to maintain and increase employment, increase agricultural and industrial production, and reduce pollution. Considered to be public instrumentality of Washington County, the Washington County Industrial Development Board can figure prominently in the county’s economic development activities.   Industrial development corporations are authorized to acquire projects, improve and/or maintain projects, lease projects, sell projects and enter into loan agreements relating to projects to facilitate their economic development goals.  The powers and duties of industrial development corporations are set forth in T.C.A. § 7-53-101 et seq. which statutes are to be broadly construed to further the health, welfare, and safety of citizens.  Individuals interested in serving on the Washington County IDB should complete the application no later than Monday, September 25, 2023 and email it to Sherry Greene in the County Mayor's Office.
